A Cozy Fall Reading List

"Rain slips through your fingers as easily as words blow away in the wind, and yet it has the power to destroy your whole world." ― Karen Maitland, Company of Liars

As the leaves begin their annual descent and the air turns crisp, it's the perfect time to embrace the cozy comforts of fall. For me, that means curling up with a good book, a warm cup of tea (or cider!), and my furry friend by my side. The gentle sounds of rain and chirping birds complete the scenario .

Growing up, I was an absolute bookworm, devouring stories day after day. I fondly remember collecting Book It! badges and indulging in countless personal pan pizzas from Pizza Hut – a (bribe?) reward for my literary adventures! My love for a good book remains strong. Here's what I'm currently reading:

Company of Liars by Karen Maitland

I'm completely captivated by this historical fiction novel that takes place during the Plague! Just a few chapters remain, and I'm savoring every moment. I discovered this gem through a TikTok recommendation from The Dog Eared Book, who reviewed 5 books that she would love to experience the first time again, but these are the ones with the best twist.

Maitland masterfully weaves a tale of suspense, keeping me on the edge of my seat with each unexpected turn of events. I have a feeling the final chapters will deliver a truly unforgettable twist!

The book Annapurna by Maurice Herzog on table
Annapurna; The First Conquest of an 8,000-Meter Peak

Annapurna by Maurice Herzog

This classic mountaineering tale has earned its place at the top of countless adventure reading lists. Herzog's account of Annapurna's first ascent is thrilling and inspiring. I'm just a few chapters in, and the expedition team is already facing challenges as they navigate the treacherous terrain.

I've heard that this book has the power to ignite a sense of adventure and inspire readers to reach new heights, both literally and figuratively.

What's Next?

I'm eager to see what other literary treasures The Dog Eared Book recommends – she certainly hit the mark with "Company of Liars." But perhaps it's time to explore the hidden gems on my own bookshelf.

Happy reading!
